TV’s next top diva? Not Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell has pulled out of a money-spinning job hosting a reality TV show.
I understand Naomi, 39, was due to front a new series of Britain’s Next Top Model but turned it down at the 11th hour.
A source said: ‘The producers felt the last series wasn’t taken as seriously as the American version because presenter Lisa Snowdon just couldn’t carry it off on her own.
‘What was missing was a real diva supermodel, a British equivalent to US host Tyra Banks.
‘Naomi was really excited, but pulled out because she couldn’t reach an agreement over logistics or the amount of time she would have to commit.’
Naomi is currently on holiday in Thailand but will fly home to London to focus on organising her Fashion for Relief show, which will raise money for Sarah Brown’s White Ribbon Alliance charity.
Gabriella time lords it over her big sister
Having seen her latest venture – playing Rosalind Gaudain in ITV2’s Trinity – panned by the critics, 29-year-old Isabella Calthorpe now has to watch as her little sister Gabriella steals the limelight.
Model Gabriella has just landed a part in the new series of Doctor Who alongside Matt Smith as she continues her bid to forge an acting career of her own.
The 20-year-old, who changed her surname to Wylde to be taken more seriously by the film industry, won the part following her cameo role in St Trinian’s 2.
Gabriella has made no secret of her desire to quit modelling saying: ‘I only want to be employed as an actress. I want to be recognised as an actress, not a model. I am leaving that behind.’
