Louis Vuitton opens pop-up restaurant with Alain Passard in Seoul
Luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton has teamed up with world-renowned Chef Alain Passard to open a pop-up restaurant at its flagship Seoul store in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu South Korea.
Titled ‘Alain Passard at Louis Vuitton’ the restaurant will serve both seasonality and locality with naturalistic dishes that satisfy the five senses. Clients will be able to experience the chef’s specialty dishes within the impressive glass space designed by eminent architect Frank Gehry.
Passard who is owner and Head Chef at Paris’ Arpege restaurant is known for introducing vegetable-focused menus to fine dining, made from vegetables, herbs and fruits that are grown in his own gardens in Sarthe, Eure, and Manche in France.
‘The curved windows of Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul remind me of the greenhouses we have in our gardens in France. The pop-up restaurant will be a place to discover the real flavors of September and October with fresh products and waiters dressed as gardeners,’ said Passard in a statement.
‘When I first arrived in Korea, I had the opportunity to discover various Korean products like local vegetables, fishes, and shellfish, and I was amazed by all of them. I hope this pop-up restaurant can become an opportunity to get closer to the Korean culture that I love,’ he added.
The restaurant continues the Louis Vuitton’s culinary pop-up concept. It is the second of its kind and follows on the heels of it’s first with Korean-born French chef Pierre Sang Boyer which lasted between early May and early June.
Alain Passard at Louis Vuitton Seoul is open now till October 29. Reservations for lunch, tea time, and dinner are available through Catch Table on a first-come, first-served basis now.
