AZ Factory pays tribute to Alber Elbaz with a unique collection
Premium womenswear label AZ Factory has released an inspiring collection that pays tribute to Alber Elbaz.
Titled ‘Free To’ the capsule comprises of hoodies, tops, sweatpants made from eco-sustainable fabrics. Each of the pieces feature bold, hand-embroidered lettering that displays a message of hope and love in keeping with the values of tolerance and acceptance. Prior to the Free To collection on June 12 (marking the Elbaz’s 60th birthday) the brand had released SuperTech-SuperChic: an athletic couture range created using eco-dyed, nylon microfibre and 3D knitting technology to create woven details.
‘The world has lost a legend and the AZ Factory team has lost a beloved friend. We are humbled and moved to launch the last two product stories he had finalised with the team. In the next months, we will come together to honour Alber with a celebration of his life and his visionary work, aiming to bring the same level of passion and love that he brought to us each day,’ Laurent Malecaze, AZ Factory CEO said in a statement.
In addition to the new collections AZ Factory plans to honor the legendary designer during Paris Fashion Week with an event which celebrates his extraordinary life, paying tribute to his creative vision and joyous spirit.
AZ Factory’s Free To collection will be on sale from June 23 to shop on the brand’s website, as well as shopping destinations like Net-a-Porter and Farfetch. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the It Gets Better Project association, which seeks to raise its voice and provide support to the LGBTQIA + community which was the wish of Elbaz.
