Tanya Taylor launches Sustainable Inclusive Swimwear Collection
New York based womenswear label Tanya Taylor has launched a sustainable size inclusive swimwear collection. The collection is the first of two this year, with the second one expected to be released alongside the Resort collection in November 2021.
Inspired by the Canadian fashion designer’s childhood summers in Barbados (where her mother has lived for nearly two decades), the collection comprises of two one-pieces, two bikinis, sarongs, a matching beach bag and hat. The one-piecs and bikinis borrow elements from the label’s signature bestselling dresses: wrap-around straps, smocking, and adjustable ties.
Each of the pieces feature one-of-a-kind hand-painted prints, and is is available from sizes XS – 3X thereby offering a comfortable fit. Furthermore, the distinctive styles are sustainable and are made from high-performance, eco-friendly fabric containing 78 percent recycled multifilament polyamide made by local artisans in Thailand.
‘Expanding the art of our ready-to-wear swim is an important next step for our brand in meeting our customer at different needs of her lifestyle. I design our prints to bring joy and encourage women to feel energetic and confident, these are emotions it’s sometimes hard to feel when you wear swim. As women, we all know it can be scary to feel your best in a swimsuit, so I focused on this capsule to fit, flatter and encourage our customer to have fun and feel empowered,’ said Taylor.
This is not the first time that Tanya Taylor has launched a swimwear collection. In May 2020, she had collaborated with Summersalt on a limited-edition swimwear capsule of printed suits.
