Loewe debuts Responsibly-made Collection of Handbags
Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe has released a new collection of responsibly crafted Handbags.
Titled ‘The Surplus Project’ the collection comprises of its classic Woven bag The Woven basket bag first appeared in Jonathan Anderson’s Loewe debut during the Spring Summer 2015 collection.
This time around the bag has been redesigned to promote its’s continuous sustainable efforts. Made from high quality surplus materials from previous collections, the bag is crafted from precisely woven classic calfskin and grained calfskin strips woven together into narrow strips to a checkerboard effect finished with rolled calfskin top handles.
Available in colors of Soft Apricot/Crystal Blue, Steel Blue/Crystal Blue, Avocado Green/Ivory, Beige/Chocolate, and Hazelnut/Camel, all pieces are stitched together by hand and are embossed with the Loewe Anagram.
Altogether the new collection sees Loewe taking a step towards circularity in its journey to becoming a more sustainable company.
