Bulgari launches new Serpenti collection in collaboration with Ambush
Italian luxury house Bulgar has teamed up with Yoon Ahn, the Tokyo-based designer and co-founder of Ambush for a new Serpenti collection.
Aptly titled ‘Serpenti Through the Eyes of Ambush’ the capsule comprises of limited-edition handbags and accessories inspired by the tree python of Southeast Asia. Yoon designed three new styles that combine a range of brilliant hues with accentuated shapes: the Serpenti shoulder bag, Serpenti belt bag, and the Serpenti Minaudiere.
Each style of the Ambush x Bulgari collection is adorned with a camouflaged snakehead closure, dressed with matching Nappa Leather and embellished in mother-of-pearl or black onyx. The accessories comprise of a heart-shaped coin case, credit card holders, and a Serpenti bracelet.
‘For this capsule collection, I wanted to express the bold and contemporary character of Serpenti. Snakes are wondrous and fascinating creatures of nature but with Bvlgari they also became a symbol of glamour in constant evolution. Natural beauty meets human creation, all guided by a contemporary aesthetic,’ Ahn said in an official statement.
‘To collaborate with a young powerful woman like Yoon is for Bvlgari an incredibly inspiring experience. The visionary designer has reimagined our icon of glamour Serpenti with her unbridled creative approach achieving an entirely unexpected result. Once more, the Bvlgari snake amazes and surprises,’ said Mireia Lopez Montoya, Bvlgari Accessory Unit Managing Director, of the collection.
To accompany the launch Bulgari released a campaign featuring models Bella Hadid, Xiao Wen, and Ellen Rosa sporting statement pieces from the new collection. The images were lensed by Brooklyn based photographer Tyler Mitchell who had shot Beyonce’s famed September 2018 Vogue cover.
The Ambush x Bvlgari Capsule collection is available to pre-order at bulgari.com and will be available in stores from 4th September 2020.
