Balmain unveils its new logo
Balmain has unveiled its new logo for its Pre-Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection.
Creative director Olivier Rousteing revealed the new logo alongside its Pre-Fall presentation yesterday. Developed by Paris-based creative studio, Adulte Adulte, the new motif is a symbol incorporating the initials B and P and references the brand’s past and future.
The new logo created in sleek monochrome is ultra-clear and is a pared down version of the vintage Balmain monogram that was abstractly geometric. The P refers to the house’s founder Pierre Balmain as well as Paris.
‘Having been the Creative Director of this house for eight years, I’m not about to tear down traditions or break rules simply for the sake of breaking them,’ Rousteing said in an official statement. ‘But times do change. Balmain is now a fast-growing brand relying on new media to communicate to a global audience. To best meet the challenges and opportunities of today, we unveil a newly updated logo for Balmain Paris.’
The new Balmain logo will make its debut on a compact bag called the B bag as well as other pieces from the Pre-Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection.
