JW Anderson will combine women’s and men’s runway shows
JW Anderson will not be seen on the catwalk during Men’s London Fashion Week in the future.
The British fashion label who recently designed a Womenswear Capsule Collection for online store Matches Fashion, has chosen to present their men’s and women’s collections simultaneously during fashion week. From now on, it will present its collection twice a year and not four times. The next show will take place on 17 February of this year.
JW Anderson follows in the footsteps of Balenciaga and Salvatore Ferragamo, who in the past month had also announced to do the same in Paris and Milan.
The trend of merging menswear and womenswear collections into one larger presentation is not a new one. Last year around 13 brands did it: Gucci, Vetements, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Coach 1941, Kenzo, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Dsquared2, Etro, Vivienne Westwood, and Bottega Veneta respectively.
