Miranda Kerr designs a denim collection
Miranda Kerr has turned denim designer.
The model, who is engaged to Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel designed a Capsule Collection for Los Angeles-based denim brand Mother.
The 12-piece limited-edition capsule offers a wide range of styles and includes tops, cropped T-shirts, jeans (flared and skinny ankle length), shorts, a cut-out jumpsuit, a simple navy sweater and a button-down denim skirt with hints of ’60s and ’70s vibes.
Kerr looked for inspiration to old images of style icons like Jane Birkin, Cindy Crawford and Audrey Hepburn. Tim Kaeding, co-founder and creative director of Mother said that Kerr was well prepared for the design process: ‘She came with Moodboards and color pallets, she also had proportions and sizes in the back of her head,’ he told US Vogue.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation in Sydney, an organization that provides support for premature babies and their families and where Kerr has been ambassador since last year. ‘The whole process was a lot of fun, but I think the best part was creating something meaningful that gives back to others in need,’ Kerr told Allure. ‘I was a premature baby myself, so the cause is very close to my heart.’
Priced between $105 – $325 the MirandaxMother collection is available online at https://www.motherdenim.com/miranda-mother
