Balmain unveils Star Studded Fall 2016 Campaign
French house Balmain‘s Fall 2016 Campaign is here and its stunning. Creative Director Olivier Rousteing tapped a slew of models and artists to star in the campaign which was revealed recently.
Making his return (for the second time) is none other than rapper and fashion designer Kanye West, together with his wife Kim Kardashian West. Additionally top models Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio, Cindy Crawford, Romee Strijd, Dilone, Jourdan Dunn, Ronald Epps, Sasha Luss and Josephine Skriver as well as singers Sia and Vic Mensa.
The black and white photographs were shot in New York just after the Met Gala by Steven Klein. Kanye sports a decked-out denim jacket and a beaded jacket that matches his colored contact lenses while Smalls looks ethereal in a dreamy ruffled number. Rousteing shared the image of Kanye and Smalls on Instagram captioning it, “Music Meets Fashion.”
Kanye’s song “Wolves” was used in the campaign video directed by Steven Klein. ‘As soon as I heard this song, I knew I had to use it for the campaign,’ said Rousteing. ‘I was happy when [Kanye West] responded that it was ok and I was delighted to see how much he wanted to be involved.’
No stranger to having star studded campaigns, Rousteing previously cast The Jenners (Kendall, Kylie, Kim and even Kris) as well as legendary Nineties supermodels Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer.
