Alexa Chung is launching her own label
Alexa Chung will be launching her very own fashion label.
The London it-girl who has several collaborations in the fashion industry and recently fronted AG’s newest campaign will oversee a ready-to-wear line titled ‘Alexachung’. The line will include both denim and evening wear, daywear, jewelery and shoes and will be backed by a design team of six including former head of Haider Ackermann’s atelier Edwin Bodson.
In an interview with Business of Fashion Chung explained why she founded her own label, rather than continue to rely on cooperation with well-known brands. ‘I just wanted the freedom to sort of make my own world, without someone else’s brand’s brief to stick to,’ said the 32-year-old.
Alexa Chung’s first collection will be available in May 2017 via MyTheresa, Selfrides, and Matchesfashion.com.
