DVF’s Latest Campaign With Karlie Kloss Is All About Women’s Empowerment
Karlie Kloss is the star of the Spring 2016 campaign by Diane von Furstenberg.
With a new slogan “#youbeyou” the campaign inspires women to become their most confident selves. The multi-hyphenate blonde beauty models lightweight fabrics, pastels, flowers and butterfly prints. In one image she appears in a white summer dress with gold embroidery, while in another a two-tone, sleeveless dress with a floral pattern. Last but not least, in the collection is a rose and pink wrap dress, reminiscent of the lightweight material and the medium-length flared sleeves of the hippie era.
‘I’ve gown up surrounded by strong women, I am who I am because of my family’ Kloss tells von Furstenberg in the accompanying 50 second YouTube video.
Describing her friendship with Diane von Furstenberg, Kloss told Elle that DVF was one of the most influential people in her life. ‘Diane has been a mentor to me since my earliest modeling days. She’s taught me to be the woman I want to be and confidence is a huge part of that. Being comfortable with yourself allows you to take risks and accomplish so much more’.
‘She’s a supermodel, she is a businesswoman, she is a lot back, she is a student and is her family very close. She is passionate, continues to improve and is fearless,’ Diane von Furstenberg told US Magazine on why she chose Karlie.
