Karlie Kloss Joins LVMH Prize Panel Of Experts
Karlie Kloss has been tapped by LVMH to shortlist 10 designers who will head on to the final round of competition for its prestigious 2016 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
The 23-year-old multi-talented, multi-hyphenate model adds another achievement to her ever-growing impressive CV, as she joins 11 creative directors and executives of luxury goods group. The main jury consists of JW Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon Carol Lim, Phoebe Philo and Riccardo Tisci. In addition, Delphine Arnault (Deputy Director of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie (adviser to Bernard Arnault and LVMH’s sponsorship director) and Pierre-Yves Roussel (CEO LVMH Fashion Group) complete the panel.
For the third year in a row, LVMH which owns brands like Louis Vuitton and Dior, will give the winner a prize of 300,000 euros (about $325,000) and a year-long mentorship to one lucky young designer, to develop their fashion label. Applicants are required to be under the age of 40 and to have produced at least two ready-to-wear collections of their own. Applications are open until February, finalists will be announced in March and the winner will be announced in June 2016.
