Gigi Hadid Is Supermodel Of The Future in ELLE Canada
Gigi Hadid is on the November cover of ELLE Canada.
Photographed by Max Abadian, the 20-year-old ‘Model of the moment’ sports a custom made Mikhael Kale top emblazoned with her name in gold. She sets off the look with pink eyeshadow, matching pink lips and wet styled blonde locks.
In the accompanying editorial, hadid who has been dubbed as ‘The supermodel of the future’ shows off her flawless figure in a series of outfits that range from futuristic to minimalist. In her interview with the magazine, Gigi talks about changing the modelling industry, social media and #squadgoals.
On her love for social media: “Now you can be someone’s favourite model because of how they connect with you on Twitter,” she explains, “or because of your sense of humour, or what you believe in, or your willingness to stand up for certain things.”
On the importance of making genuine connections in the industry: “When I go into a job, I want to touch people,” she says. “I want to make a connection. That’s so important in creating relationships, and relationships are what create opportunity.”
On her friendships with quarter-century power players, including Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss: “We want to be the generation and the group of friends known for supporting each other,” she explains. “‘Squad Goals’ is a big social-media thing right now, and that’s what we want to inspire in other groups of friends — to be proud of the power you all have when you’re together, which can be amplified so much by each person.”
