Meet Astrid Holler : The Model Who Opened Alexander Wang’s Show
The New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 is finally over. Everybody from top fashion bloggers, to top editors in the industry, to several current still-working models were present. Karlie Kloss sat with Taylor Swift at Oscar, Gigi Hadid at Tory Burch, and Coco Rocha was at Donna Karan and Zac, among others.
Of the plenty well known models who walked for various brands and designers notably there were plenty new faces. This years Alexander Wang show was opened by Australian model Astrid Holler. The 18 year old striking beauty hails from Queensland and won the Girlfriend Model Search modelling competition in 2012.
Of Croatian and Austrian heritage she was scouted on the street by Vogue Australia fashion director Christine Centenera two years ago and having recently finished high school, has walked two seasons of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia before making the jump to NYFW. “It’s a fresh start; I just really wanted to come here,” Holler told Style.com.
She also opened for Phillip Lim at this years NYFW. However opening for Alexander Wang was a blessing for the budding model. Past honorees include Vanessa Moody, Anna Ewers, Irina Kravchenko, and Nadja Bender, all of whom have gone on to have massive careers.
