Victoria Beckham hits the big 4-0!

It is the fortieth birthday of British entrepreneur Victoria Beckham today. The fashion icon and former pop music star was born in the town of Harlow, Essex on Wednesday, April 17th, 1974 as Victoria Caroline Adams.

Dubbed Posh Spice during her years as a vocalist in the now disestablished British all-female group Spice Girls, Beckham has gone to achieve a higher level of recognition as a fashion designer, rather than as a musician. In 1999, the brunette beauty went on to marry the then-Manchester United footballer David Beckham, becoming one of the United Kingdom’s most famous celebrity couples.

The iconic mother-of-four, who has showcased twelve collections of her noted Victoria Beckham label, debuted her eponymous clothing line during New York’s Spring/Summer 2008 ready-to-wear fashion week. The now forty year-old businesswoman will soon launch her brand’s first ever shop in London’s popular Dover Street.
