It’s never too late to be a model!
The statuesque Jacqui “Tajah” Murdock has been hand-picked by French fashion label Lanvin for their fall campaign and she is 82!
Jacqui Murdock who has 10 grandchildren generated a lot of interest when a shot of her from the campaign was released where she was seen wearing a slim fitting green dress, dangle earrings and holding a green fur shawl looking very aristocratic. The Harlem-born beauty of Jamaican descent told New York Post that she sometimes forgets her age. “The other day I was pointing at those old people. I forgot I’m one of them!”
In their latest campaign, Lanvin’s artistic creator, Alber Elbaz, wanted to use “real people” for their latest campaign. He called it “the crazy family” and it is made up of ordinary people from all walks of life including a waiter, a milliner and a U.S. immigrant and of course featuring, Jacqui Murdock, a dancer. The marketing strategy seems to be working in their favour as it has generated a lot of interest for their campaign.
Coming back to the spunky Ms Murdock, she says, “the recognition was a long time coming and hard-earned.” We say, “You go girl!”
