Natalia Vodianova “kicks it” in fashionable wedges
The 30 year-old Russian model showed up at a charity soccer match wearing a red Umbro kit and shin pads but instead of the traditional footwear, she chose to wear a pair of high wedges on her feet. In her hands she did carry a pair of bright orange Nike boots but seemed reluctant to put them on.
The charity football match, Play4Life, which featured other home grown stars was held in Moscow´s Luzhniki Stadium on June 1st. As part of the “Vodianova´s “Naked Heart” foundation, the event was held to bring awareness to problems faced by people with disabilities. At the press conference, Natalia was seen buzzing Eto´o on the cheek. The 31 year old soccer star plays for the Russian club, Anzhi Makhachkala. Eto´o and Natalia spoke of their hopes and ambitions for the charity match before the game.
At a London based photo shoot to bring more attention to the event, Vodianova posed in bra and panties wearing football boots. The photo shoot was also part of a PR campaign for an underwear brand Etam.
Luckily, her team for the football match was not made up of supermodels. Can you imagine supermodels in high-fashion wedges going up against the likes of Anzhi striker Samuel Eto´o, Spartak Moscow veteran Vladimir Beschastnyh, Yeltsin´s grandson Boris Junior and GQ magazine chief-editor Mikhail Ido? Now, that would be a match to watch.
The Russian model has been an active philanthropist for many years. Her “Naked Heart” Foundation was founded in 2004. Since then she has been working hard to bring aid to the down-trodden. The supermodel knows a lot about diseases and suffering as her own sister suffers from cerebral palsy.
Gorgeous looks aside, this is one model who has a heart of gold. Two thumbs up Natalia.
