Pride and jealousy
Like every mother Cindy Crawford is very proud of her daughter’s achievements as a child model. However, that doesn’t keep her from feeling jealous of that 10-year-old young version of her. “I look at my daughter and I’m like, ‘You have my old skin and I want it back! You have my old legs, I want them back! You have my old hair, I want it back!’ She is just getting more and more beautiful. But at the same time, there’s so much good that comes with it. And I think if you’re happy in your life, it’s a lot easier to take”, Cindy told US television.
This kind of good and somehow nostalgic jealousy only makes the supermodel more aware of the great career her child can have. Its start was big! A Versace innaugural children’s wear campaign is not everybody’s first job! Anyway, Cindy used her experience as model to make sure everything about it was appropriate before signing the contract: “I’m like protective mama, so I said, ‘Who is doing the pictures?’ I said, ‘I don’t want her looking like a tart. She can’t wear make-up’, I’m going to hold the bar so high for her, in terms of photographers and stuff, because I know”.
With a mother like that on her side Kaia Gerber will have nothing but good memories of modelling at such a young age!
