Gemma Ward hits the big screen in “The Great Gatsby”
Gemma Ward quit her modeling career in 2008, but is returning to the spotlight as an actress. Her recent endeavor is “The Great Gatsby” by Baz Luhrmann. “The Great Gatsby” was based in Long Island, In New York City and written in 1925 by F.Scott Fitzgerald. The novel is about certain characters (including Gemma’s) during the Roaring in 20’s in the United States. A time where there was prohibition yet millions flowed through the hands of many through bootlegging.
Gemma will be playing the role of Catherine, who is the sister of Myrtle Wilson, mistress to Tom Buchanan. She is pictured above looking like she just came out of the 20’s with ringlet hair and a feathered head piece set to attend an elaborate party of some sort, probably Jay Gatsby’s. Most of the book was about the wealth and glamour of many of Gemma’s co-stars. This is not Gemma’s first time on the big screen. She recently played a mermaid in the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The film will also star many other Hollywood A-listers including Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Isla Fisher as Myrtle Wilson.
