Heidi Klum, multitasking model mother manages her career with a happy marriage
She has four children, a hugely successful television show, a famous husband and a figure most women would kill for – but Heidi Klum insists she’s not stressed.
The Project Runway host finally seems to have struck a balance in her life, six months after hanging up her Victoria’s Secret Angel wings to spend
more time with her family.
The supermodel, 37, who is married to singer Seal, knows all too well the challenges of being a working mother, and reveals how she manages in the new issue of Good Housekeeping magazine.
She explained that the secret to her success was having clear priorities, and learning not to punish herself if things fail to go to plan.
‘Keeping it all together as a modern woman means multitasking, especially when you work,’ she said. ‘I’II think you always need to try your best, but at the same time you can only do what you can do, and you don’t need to beat yourself up about it. I’m not white-picket-fence perfect.’
The couple, who married in 2005, have a full house, with sons Henry, five and Johan, four, and daughter Lou, 18 months. Their brood also includes six-year-old Leni – Ms Klum’s daughter from a previous relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.
She told the magazine: ‘Family comes first. You’re the only thing they have. Almost six years into her marriage to Seal, she is more in love than ever. She revealed: ‘He’s the most charming, loving, fun, gentlemanly, inspirational man I could have wished for. He always makes me feel I’m the only woman in the world.
She added that it was important to make efforts to keep the spark alive. ‘We may be parents, but we can still make time to be a couple,’ she continued. ‘We’ll go shopping together. The kids think that’s the most boring thing on the planet. ‘We like to have fun with each other. We do have four kids.’
