There’s nothing like a bitter divorce trial to make the heart grow fonder.
Supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her multi-millionaire husband Peter Brant announced Monday morning they are back together.
After months of bitter legal wranglings, spiteful allegations and millions spent in lawyers fees, the high-flying couple withdrew their divorce application in a Connecticut court.
Seymour and Brant sauntered into the Middletown courthouse just before 10 a.m., hand-in-hand and smiling, as if the past six months – rife with allegations of infidelity, drug abuse and wild spending sprees – never happened.
“The parties have withdrawn their divorce action and are reconciling,” they said in a joint statement released after the hearing. “They ask that their privacy be respected.”
At stake was custody of the couple’s three kids, Peter Jr., 16, Harry, 14, and Lily, 5, as well as Brant’s nearly $500 million fortune, and a slew of luxury homes in Connecticut, the Hamptons and Palm Beach.
Judge Linda Monroe welcomed the reconciliation and even said she had predicted it. She said she just wished it had come sooner.
“I hope we never see you again,” she quipped. “I wish you made this decision six months ago.”
