Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez Loewe Creative Directors

Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe has announced the appointment of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez as new co-creative directors.

The American designers will take over the creation of the brand’s collections, including womenswear, menswear, accessories, and leather goods. They will relocate from New York to Paris, where Loewe’s creative offices are based.

‘We are very honored to join Loewe, a house whose values and mission align closely with our own. We look forward to working alongside its extraordinary teams and artisans, whose talent under the exceptional creative direction of Jonathan Anderson has shaped Loewe into the cultural force it is today,’ McCollough and Hernandez said in a statement.

‘McCollough and Hernandez are a natural fit for Loewe’s corporate culture thanks to their energy, passion, and playfulness. They possess not only creative talent but also an entrepreneurial vision that goes beyond fashion and embraces cultural dimensions,’ Loewe CEO Pascale Lepoivre explained.

‘I have long admired Jack and Lazaro’s work at Proenza Schouler, [and] their eclectic creativity and dedication to craft make them a natural choice to build the next chapter for Loewe. I look forward to seeing them lead the evolution of the house,’ Sidney Toledano, chief executive of the LVMH fashion group added.

McCollough and Hernandez’s appointment comes one week after Jonathan Anderson announced his departure after 11 years at the helm. It also comes a little over a month after the pair left Proenza Schouler, the American label they founded together 23 years ago. The date of their debut collection for Loewe is yet to be announced.
