Switzerland-based luxury goods company Richemont has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Perrin as Chief Executive Officer of Panerai effective 1 April 2025.

Perrin who is currently the Head of Specialist Watchmakers Distribution since 2017, will report to Richemont’s CEO Nicolas Bos. He replaces Jean-Marc Pontroue, who served as Panerai’s CEO since 2018, and will step down on 1 April 2025. Pontroue has had a distinguished 25-year tenure with the Group and played a pivotal role in shaping Panerai’s strategy and global presence, following his leadership positions at Montblanc and Roger Dubuis.

Perrin has over 33 years of experience within Richemont, with tenures at Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. He will leverage his deep knowledge of the Group and the watch sector to lead Panerai’s continued evolution and long-term success.

‘It is with excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I take the baton handed from Jean-Marc and the teams that have contributed to the development of Panerai to this day. I am looking forward to being of service to the Maison, its colleagues, its clients, its partners, and the Paneristi worldwide,’ Perrin said in a press release.

Founded in Florence in 1860 as a workshop, shop and school of watch-making, Panerai supplied the Italian Navy with precision instruments and designed the Luminor and Radiomir. In 1997, the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group and these designs which were covered by the Military Secrets Act were launched on the international market.
