OTB-owned luxury fashion house Jil Sander has announced the appointment of Simone Bellotti as its new Creative Director with immediate effect.

His appointment comes after the departure of co-creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier who exited last month after seven years. He joins Jil Sander following his tenure of less than two years as Creative Director at Bally which he had joined since October 2022.

Prior to Bally, he spent 16 years in the design studio at Gucci under Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele. In May 2023 he became design director following designer Rhuigi Villasenor’s exit after just over a year at the helm.

‘Simone embarks on this journey with extensive experience and a distinct talent. Over the time spent together we shared the strategic vision and mission for Jil Sander, the values of innovation and sophistication that make it an iconic and unique brand,’ Renzo Rosso, Chairman of OTB Group said in a press release.

‘I am incredibly honored to join Jil Sander, a storied house that created a new aesthetic with its unique approach and strong identity, and that has always had such a significant influence on the design community. I am grateful to Renzo for the trust, and I am keen to contribute to the house’s full potential,’ Bellotti said on his appointment.

Raised in Milan, Simone moved to Antwerp and has had a career spanning positions at A.F. Vandervorst, Gianfranco Ferre, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta. With a passion for research he has a keen obsession for detail, interpreting archival references with innovative directions.
