Dior appoints Monica Barbaro as its newest Ambassador
LVMH owned French Luxury Fashion house Dior has announced the appointment of American actress Monica Barbaro as its newest Ambassador for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s collections effective February 21st.
Barbaro has been nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her breakout performance as legendary activist singer-songwriter Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
‘The House proudly welcomes American actress Monica Barbaro, star of “A Complete Unknown,” as its newest ambassador for Maria Grazia Chiuri’s collections, her luminous spirit magnifying the House’s legacy of championing women in the arts,’ Dior said in a statement.
‘Fashion and its evolution as an art form have inspired me since childhood. To me, Dior holds an iconic place in this world. It’s a great honor to work with a house that sets the gold standard for elegance, craftsmanship, and the celebration of femininity,’ Barbaro said of her new role.
Before taking on her new role for Dior, in 2024 Barbaro was named Bvlgari’s ambassador for North America for the jewelry and watch categories.
Born in San Francisco, she moved to New York to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and received a BFA in Dance. She is known for her roles alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Netflix spy comedy Fubar and as a a fighter pilot alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick.
