Dior introduces its new Lady 95.22 with Iconic campaign of Exceptional Women
French Luxury Fashion house Dior has released its new iconic bag, the Lady 95.22 with a campaign of multigenerational exceptional women.
Revealed at the Dior autumn-winter 2022-2023 ready-to-wear show, the new Lady 95.22 bag revisits the maison’s unique heritage with modernity. Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri put her signature touch on the house’s iconic accessory almost 28 years after its original release.
The revamped 95.22 has an updated shape and curved edges that promise a bold and sophisticated look. The two handles, delicately refined with leather and metal, are punctuated with ‘Dior’ charms, evoking the lucky-charms of Monsieur Dior. The name is an ode to the link between past and present, with 1995 as the date of the icon’s creation, and 2022 as the year of its revival.
To support the launch of the new Lady 95.22 Dior has unveiled an exclusive campaign that will roll out over the course of the year. Lensed by Brigitte Lacombe, the campaign celebrates the timeless allure of the house’s Lady 95.22 bag and exalts the multiple facets of a plural femininity.
It features a series of exceptional women who have distinguished themselves in the realms of art, cinema, sports, literature, fashion and music – actress Anya Taylor-Joy, actress Rosamund Pike, tennis player Emma Raducanu, Chinese actress and Dior ambassador in China Dilraba Dilmurat, film director and producer Beatrice Borromeo, and feminist writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Profoundly united by their spirit of independence, they share the message of universal and essential sisterhood.
