Acne Studios collaborates with Kero on Footwear Collection
Swedish luxury fashion house Acne Studios has teamed up with Swedish heritage shoemaker Kero for a capsule of shoes.
Founded in 1929, Kero is based in Sattajarvi in Lapland and is known for its naturally-tanned leather ‘beak’ shoe that was inspired by the language of clothing that evolved in nomadic communities. In creating the new collection Acne Studios has presented the famous silhouette with their own modern update reimagined as a slip-on, calf-high boot or knee-high boot, for both men and women in cognac brown and black.
‘When I was growing up, my mum thought Kero shoes were really cool, so she made me wear them. I hated them at the time and was one of the only kids wearing them at school. Now that I’m older, I wanted to see if I could bring them into the Acne Studios world and play with this idea of heritage and roots,’ Jonny Johansson, co-founder and creative director of Acne said in a press release.
The release of the capsule is accompanied by a campaign featuring musicians and artists Bakar, Alewya, Bladee, Ellie Rowsell from Wolf Alice and Wolf Gillespie. Priced at 570 USD, the Acne Studios x Kero capsule is available now at Acne Studios stores worldwide and online at the Acne Studios website.
