Etro appoints Marco De Vincenzo as new Creative Director
Italian luxury fashion house Etro hasappointed Marco De Vincenzo as the new Creative Director for its women’s, men’s and home collections effective June 1st, 2022.
Etro founder, Gerolamo Etro’s children, Veronica, Kean and Jacopo who held the title of women’s, men’s and home creative directors, respectively will continue to be involved in the development of the brand’s strategy in partnership with [private equity firm] L Catterton.
‘As part of the brand’s new course, we welcome with enthusiasm the arrival of Marco De Vincenzo. Through his sensitivity for colors, prints and fabrics, we are sure that Marco will be able to translate at best Etro’s extraordinary heritage into new interpretations for the different brand’s collections and also giving a new drive to the world of accessories,’ Etro’s Chief Execute Officer Fabrizio Cardinali said in a statement.
One of the most innovative designers of the new generation, De Vincenzo is known for his attention to color and print. A graduate from the European Institute of Design in Rome, in 2000 he collaborated with Fendi’s accessory line before launching his eponymous women’s ready-to-wear brand in 2009. He also was awarded first prize in Altaroma and Vogue Italia’s talent competition Who is on Next?.
De Vincenzo will present his first collection for Etro in September during Milan Fashion Week.
