IKKS launches limited edition Sustainable Capsule
French Fashion Brand has launched a limited edition eco-responsible collection
Titled ‘IKKS Free The Sea’ the capsule comprises of 30 pieces for men, women and children such as jackets, dresses, t-shirts, polo shirts, swim shorts and swimsuits. The standout of the collection is the sailor top, IKKS ‘s emblematic garment since its launch in 1987. All of the pieces are made from organic cotton and SEAQUAL YARN, a recycled polyester yarn from plastic waste recovered from the seabed.
With this capsule, IKKS proves that it is possible to create trendy clothes while respecting the environment and also affirms its commitment to ecological values. The brand has announced that 5% of the ‘Free the Sea’ capsule sales will be donated to the NGO The SeaCleaners (created in 2016 by sailor and explorer Yvan Bourgnon), to support building the Manta boat project. The eco-friendly boat will be able to collect, treat and reclaim between 5,000 and 10,000 tonnes of plastic ocean waste per year. The launch of this one-of-a-kind ship factory, a real concentration of ecology and technology, is planned for 2024.
To mark the launch of the emblematic collection, a black and white campaign lensed by Nathaniel Goldberg featuring French supermodel and actress Laetitia Casta and motoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo has been released. Casta who has been lending her face to the label since 2019 perfectly illustrates the brand’s commitment and its new credo.
The IKKS Free The Seacapsule is available now on the IKKS website and in stores.
