Manolo Blahnik and Birkenstock collaborate on Luxe collection
Spanish fashion designer Manolo Blahnik and German shoe manufacturer Birkenstock have teamed up for a highly anticipated capsule.
Titled ‘Birkenstock x Manolo Blahnik’ the collection features six styles: three versions of Birkenstock’s Arizona sandals, and three versions of Boston clogs designed in bright fuchsia, bold blue velvet and smooth black leather. All of the styles incorporates Manolo Blahnik’s signature glamour via crystal embellishments.
The idea for the collaboration between both iconic brands came about after the famed designer was photographed alongside his niece, Kristina Blahnik (the CEO of the company), for the Birkenstock spring 2020 campaign in his first store on Old Church Street in London.
‘Birkenstocks have been in my wardrobe since the very beginning [of time]. I have loved and worn mine for many years. I am thrilled that we have been able to collaborate, fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks is simply wonderful,’ Manolo said in an official statement about the collaboration.
‘Timeless, high-quality designs, crafted to be treasured and enjoyed, is what we set out to create and I am delighted with the outcome. It is a privilege to cement our relationship further with Birkenstock through this collaboration, following the Spring/Summer 2020 Personality Campaign in which my uncle and I were featured,’ Kristina Blahnik, the designer’s niece and CEO of the company added.

Priced at 495 euros and 595 euros, the first part of the Birkenstock x Manolo Blahnik collection is available from March 24th 1774.com, Manoloblahnik.com, all Manolo Blahnik boutiques and select retailers worldwide. The second part will be launched in June 2022.
