Julia Roberts Is Chopards Newest Ambassador
Swiss maison Chopard has tapped Julia Roberts as its newest ambassador.
The Academy Award winning actor who has the most beautiful smile in the history of contemporary cinema stars as the face of its limited-edition Happy Sport watch.
This time around the iconic Happy Sport timepiece pays tribute to the original from 1993 and features loose diamonds housed between two slices of sapphire crystal, which allows the stones to move freely across the dial.
Caroline Scheufele, artistic director and co-president of Chopard introduced the Happy Sport with the intention of conveying the catching flow and free-spirited charm of Joie de Vivre. Since then, it has opened up the watch market to women everywhere and the timepiece has become one of the most popular accessories in the brand’s offering.
A passionate film-lover, Scheufele picked Roberts to front the campaign for the collection as she embodies the Joie de Vivre Free Spirit of the Happy Diamonds. ‘Julia Roberts was the only person I felt could covey the spirit that I see in Happy Sport,’ she said in a statement.
‘I am honoured to be collaborating with Chopard on the Happy Sport watch, one of the most iconic and desirable models in the industry,’ said Roberts.
In the accompanying short film by French filmmaker Xavier Dolan Roberts is seen with a characteristic smile on her face, dancing to the tune of Upside Down by Paloma Faith. Whilst answering questions about happiness, she says she is happiest at sunset, and also when people are nice to each other.
