Louis Vuitton appoints Naomi Osaka as its newest Ambassador
Naomi Osaka is Louis Vuitton’s newest brand ambassador.
The 23-year-old three-time Grand Slam winner who is now the highest-paid female athlete in history will make her debut for the brand’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 campaign shot by artistic director of womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquiere.
‘Naomi is an exceptional woman who represents her generation and is also a role model for everyone. Her career and convictions are inspiring. I am in awe of Naomi, she stays true to herself and doesn’t compromise on her values,’ Ghesquiere said on the ambassadorship.
‘Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion; and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton. It is such an honour to work with Nicolas – he’s a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me,’ Osaka expressed her excitement on the partnership in a press release.
Osaka’s appointment as Louis Vuitton’s ambassador is not her first foray into tjhe world of fashion. The tennis champion who currently awaits the postponed 2021 Tokyo Olympics previously collaborated with Japanese label ADEAM at New York Fashion Week and has appeared on the cover of Vogue’s January issue, which debuted last month.
