Miu Miu launches its first upcycled collection
Italian fashion house Miu Miu has launched a new capsule collection of old pieces that have been upcycled.
Titled ‘Upcycled’ the capsule comprises of vintage dresses that have been carefully sourced from vintage clothing stores and markets all over the world and re-fashioned with signature Miu Miu detailing. The new collection is a creative initiative that is part of a series of eco-minded initiatives from Miuccia Prada.
From mini skirts to cocktail dresses, the range boasts of 80 one-off, numbered garments from the 1930s to 1980s. All of the pieces are hand-embroidered, and newly embellished with statement collars and puff sleeves and take days to complete. Stand out pieces include a 1970s organza-pleated dress with embroidered halter top detail is embellished with crystals, a collared 1960s dress, and a vintage tartan cocktail dress has gold and crystal trims.
The Upcycled by Miu Miu collection is available in nine selected Miu Miu boutiques worldwide.
