Model of the Week: Oliwia Nosal
Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Nabou Thiam and this week we’re turning our attention to Oliwia Nosal. The Nowy Sacz native is relatively new to the industry, but she’s managed to make an impression in a short time. The budding model breathes new life into the idea of Polish girl chic with her poise and effortless beauty. We caught with her to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
No, I was not interested in those kind of things at all. For me it was always sport. When I was younger my dream was to become professional tennis or handball player. I have spent more than half of my life to practice those sports.
How were you scouted?
I was on my way to a concert in Cracow. I did not know the city very well so I went in a completely different direction then I was supposed to. When I was looking for the correct bus stop I bumped into now,my beautiful friend Karina Kopczynska and she invited me to a casting that actually was planned for the same day we met.
How would you describe yourself as model in three words?
Ambitious, industrious, joyful.
Your first modeling job?
An Ecommerce shooting for Mango.
What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
Traveling and meeting people from different cultures. Thanks to that I have become more open-minded and I am extremely grateful for that.
Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
My parents are definitely someone who I look up to the most. But honestly I do not have that one person I could call ‘my role model’. When I meet or read about people that are very inspiring to me, I try to take whatever I admire about them and implement it to my life.
What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?
The day when I was scouted. It is very hard to describe how I felt because so many emotions went through me that day. I did not expect anything like this to happen to me and my life really took a 180-degree turn.
What is your dream shoot/campaign?
Anything for Gucci. My biggest modelling dream is to work with Alessandro Michele and his team.
Biggest lesson that modelling has taught you?
It is hard to choose just one. But it definitely taught me to be more assertive, patient, outgoing and self-confident.
What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received?
It is very simple. To live a life I will remember, without any regrets. To never stop pushing myself and following my dreams.
How do you stay in shape?
I am far away from perfect but I am doing my best to live a healthy lifestyle that I can enjoy and stick to. Finding a good balance between diet, exercise and having time to sleep is very important for my physical and mental shape.
What do you think about fashion? What does it mean to you?
At the beginning I did not understand fashion, it was just clothes for me. After seeing a little bit of the process and how much work goes into creating those amazing pieces by so many talented people I have realized how amazing it is. You can really express yourself and tell a story using fashion.
If you had to be head to tow in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Gucci.
How would you describe your style?
Very much mood dependent hahah.
Denim or leather?
Both!
Heels or flats?
Flats.
Vintage or contemporary fashion?
I would say 70% vintage and 30% contemporary.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Neapolitan pizza and ice-cream.
What’s been your most indulgent purchase since you became a model?
I have to admit that I really love shoes. I gifted myself two pairs that I could have only dreamt of before I became a model.
If you were an emoji, which would you be and why?
Well, ‘you are what you eat’ so I am definitely choosing a banana emoji hahah.
When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
Cooking something yummy or going out and discovering new restaurants and cuisines with my boyfriend. If it is sunny outside I love going on long walks and listening to podcasts.
What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?
For now I am focusing mainly on modeling but lately I have been thinking a lot about future. My dream is to run my own business that I would be very passionate about. I also would love to travel the World with my other half.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
I see myself being happy and proud of all of my accomplishments. Of course still working on many things and doing something I really enjoy. Hopefully living in a beautiful house, somewhere in the World with my own family. That is all I need
