Raf Simons is Launching Womenswear this October
Raf Simons will be launching womenswear under his eponymous label for the first time in 25 years.
In an Instagram post today the Belgian designer made the surprise announcement that he will present his upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 men’s and first-ever women’s collection on October 23rd.
Simons is no stranger to Womenswear. In 2005 he was appointed creative director of Jil Sander and presented his first Womenswear collection during Fall 2006. He also had a three and a half year stint from 2012 – 2015 as Creative Director of Womenswear for Christian Dior, and later at Calvin Klein thus establishing himself not only as a pivotal menswear designer but womenswear as well.
Simons who was appointed co-creative director of Prada on April 2, 2020, is set to present his first Prada collection designed by Miuccia Prada and himself in Milan on September 24 2020 for the brands’ Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear show. Now all eyes will be on Simmons come October 23rd.
