Fendi taps Chloe x Halle as it newest campaign stars
Italian label Fendi has tapped American R&B duo sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey to be the stars of its new Peekaboo bag campaign.
The unstoppable sisters who released their new album, Ungodly Hour in June were given complete creative control by Fendi and worked with director Andrew Makadsi’s ideas, videographer Derek Milton and photographer Julian Dakdouk and stylist Zerina Akers.
The video which was shot during the quarantine pandemic at their home was inspired by the playful lyrics of a song from their album. The dreamy campaign features the sisters modeling the iconic Peekaboo bag (in models Peekaboo ISeeU in Medium and East-west), over their track ‘Busy Boy’.
Subtle, classic, and timeless the new bag features a new accordion-frame silhouette with interchangeable inside pockets in smooth leather or precious skins that can be personalized with one’s initials. It had initially made its debut alongside the Fall/Winter 2020-21 collection which was presented in February.
‘Since we can remember, we have always been huge fans of the Fendi brand. Fendi is the perfect mixture of classy and sexy, and we were more than happy to be a part of this project,’ Chloe x Halle said on the campaign.
‘#MeAndMyPeekaboo celebrates the intimate family relationships that represent inseparable bonds and there is no more visible pair of sisters right now than Chloe x Halle,’ said Silvia Venturini Fendi, Fendi’s Creative Director.
Fendi’s #MeAndMyPeekaboo honors the relationship between family and the Peekaboo bag in a series of videos. Previous stars include Kim Kardashian West with daughter North West and her mother Kris Jenner, sisters TK Wonder and Ciprianna Quann, Iris Law, and J-Pop stars Ami and Aya amongst many others.
The new Peekaboo bag will is expected to be available in-stores from August onwards.
