Jacquemus showcases its Spring / Summer 2021 collection in a wheat field
French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus held his Spring / Summer 2021 show in a wheat field in the Vexin Regional National Park outside of Paris with social-distancing measures in place.
Models walked down a six hundred meter long catwalk made of wooden planks sporting looks from the new collection that complimented the surroundings. Since it was a physical show, around 100 hand-picked guests such as Maria Bernad and Camille Charriere sat in attendance.
Titled L’Amour the men’s and womenswear collection has hues of sand beige, white, sky grey, sage green, and neutral black. The women’s collection comprises of floor-grazing maxi dresses, striking tops, featuring daring cut-outs and dipping necklines as well as accessories such as the iconic Chiquito handbag and the Chiquito Noeud. On the other hand, the men’s collection features blazers, shirts with Picasso motifs, and cut-out hearts.
Altogether the collection is an ode to the brands’ design team who according to Simon put in an enormous effort these last few months and worked as a human chain, executing every step of the creative process with love.
‘Deciding to go ahead with our usual collection schedule and with a show is at the heart of our visual identity, our commercial strategy. With this smaller collection, presented mainly to our family and friends, we bring our interior worlds out into the open, interpreting the humble fabrics and objects we live with that have their own poems to tell. Within the home, L’Amour reveals itself in small wonders,’ Simon said of the collection.
The L’Amour collection is available for pre-order on the website of Jacquemus. Check out all looks of the Jacquemus Spring / Summer 2021 show here.
