Fashion brands reopen in Austria and Germany with new safety measures for Shoppers
Following the Corona Virus shutdown, fashion chains and houses in Austria and Germany like Mango, Zara, Prada, Chanel, are slowly reopening their branches again due to the gradual relaxation of restrictions. In all boutiques, only one person is allowed per 20 square meters of retail space with a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. Wearing a mask is compulsory for both customers and staff.

Hermes
The French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer has reopened the majority of its boutiques across Germany from Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Store times may be adjusted depending on the situation. The safety rules which apply are as follows: all customers are provided with masks and gloves and must maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. Hand disinfection dispensers are provided directly at the entrance and at other points of sale. Only one person is allowed per 20 square meters of retail space. All staff wear masks and the sales and heavily used areas and objects are disinfected every hour.
Zara
The Spanish fashion chain has opened most of its branches in Germany. Admission is regulated and 20 square meters is allowed per person. Customers are required to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. Changing rooms can be used and are disinfected by employees after each visit. The same applies to all other Inditex brands such as Massimo Dutti or Bershka.
Louis Vuitton
The LVMH owned French luxury label has reopened most of its branches in Germany. According to the company, all its outlets adhere to the guidelines of the responsible authorities and the applicable distance and hygiene regulations. All customers must wear a face mask and Only one person per 20 square meters of retail space is allowed. Customers must also maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. Changing rooms may be used and heavily used areas and objects disinfected by employees after each visit. Louis Vuitton also encourages customers to make cashless payments.
Woolrich
The American clothing company has opened its stores across Germany in Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, and Hamburg. The store timings are from Monday to Saturday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m while for the Hamburg branch Monday to Friday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Saturday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The safety rules which apply are as follows: all customers are provided with hand disinfectant at the entrance and a minimum distance of 1.5 meters should be maintained. Masks are a must in most federal states except Berlin.
H&M
The Swedish fashion giant has gradually reopened its stores in all federal states of Austria and Germany. According to the company, all its outlets adhere to the guidelines of the responsible authorities and the applicable distance and hygiene regulations. H&M employees wear a face mask are provided with disinfectants for increased cleaning and hygiene purposes in the checkout area. Guests are not obligated to wear masks and hand sanitizers will not be provided to them. This the company says is due to the acute need for medical professionals. There is signage reminding customers to observe the distance rules of at least 1.5 meters and etiquette while coughing or sneezing. Floor stickers also indicate the distance rules. Elevators may only be used by one person. Perspex panes in the checkout area are intended to provide additional protection. There are also entry controls in H&M shops with a sales area of 20 square meters planned per person.
Chanel
The French luxury brand has reopened its boutiques in Austria and Germany. Shops are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the following safety rules: Face masks are a must fir both staff as well as customers. Miu Miu & Prada
Both Italian luxury fashion houses have opened across Austria and Germany. The safety rules which apply are as follows: Appropriate markings are placed on the floor of the shops and a minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be maintained between people. All customers are provided with masks and hand disinfectant at the entrance. Gloves are available on request. All employees wear masks and are obliged to keep the minimum distance from customers and other employees.
