LVMH Is Producing Hand Sanitizer to Help Fight Coronavirus
Fashion conglomerate LVMH is producing free hand sanitizer gel for French hospitals to help fight Coronavirus.
The company announced on Sunday that three of its factories in France that produce cosmetics and perfumes for Givenchy, Christian Dior, and Guerlain will be mobilized to manufacture hydroalcoholic gel-hand sanitizer as long as necessary, in connection with French health authorities.
‘Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a lack of product in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right action to protect themselves against the spread of the virus,’ the group said in a statement.
The gels will be offered free of charge to healthcare providers in Paris for the time being starting with Assistance Publique Hopitaux de Paris, a medical treatment and education system including 39 public hospitals that serve Paris and the surrounding areas.
In addition to LVMH, other fashion players have pledged their commitment to fighting the virus in response to the coronavirus epidemic. Armani has donated 1.25 million to hospitals in Italy, Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni launched a large-scale fundraising campaign with her husband Fedez, while Dolce & Gabbana made a donation to a study by Italy’s Humanitas University into immune system responses to SARS-CoV-2.
