Model Of The Week: Carol Paes
Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Italian beauty Gail Pelizzari and this week we’re turning our attention to Carol Paes. The Brazilian beauty has been spotted on the SS20 runways for designers such as Antonio Marras, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney, and Versace. We caught with Carol to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
I always wanted to be a model, since I was a little girl I watched the shows on YouTube and Tv. When I was growing up I started to put in my head I wanted to be like the models!
How were you scouted?
I was in the center of my city, a man stopped me and said that I had the profile to be a model. He asked to arrange a day to take photos of me, which he sent to an agency in my city which was holding a contest and started working as a model!
How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Determined, versatile and committed
What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
For me, it is always traveling, knowing places and people, learning in every place I go, and being able to see the world as a better place.
Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
I always liked Cara Delevingne, she can convey security in her eyes while parading! A great inspiration.
What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?
It was my first show for Dior! It happened at my first Paris Fashion Week, every moment was surreal, from casting to the day of the show!
Biggest lesson that modeling has taught you?
I gained several teachings as a model, but I believe that the hardest thing was that I learned that being independent is not something to despair. Of course, at first, it scares, but over time we get the hang of it, and choosing despair is not the best choice.
What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received?
Do today what you could not do tomorrow
How do you stay in shape?
I balance food and exercise. But most of it comes from my genetics!
If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
I would choose Victoria’s Secret.
How would you describe your style?
I don’t have an exact description of my style, it depends a lot on my mood or where I’m going.

When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I like to spend time with family and friends, taking care of mental health is also very important.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
10 years from now I find myself living somewhere in Europe, with financial stability and building my family!
