Prada exhibition to open in London
Miuccia Prada’s design vision is the subject of a new exhibition that is set to open in London next year.
Titled “Prada, Front and Back” the exhibition which is curated by The Design Museum will trace the history of the Italian fashion brand. It will feature iconic pieces, including handbags, shoes, and items from its catwalk collections.
Unlike other major fashion exhibitions of recent years, such as the Dior retrospective at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum the show will give visitors a new look at the mechanisms of fashion, their theoretical foundation and the aesthetics of our time. Offering insight into Prada’s creative approach and inspirations it will decipher Miuccia’s complex vision and how she helped transform the family business into one of the most successful names in the fashion industry.
‘We are delighted to announce our 2020 Programme, with a series of provocative exhibitions that will allow us to make the impact of design visible: from examining the technology and innovation that drive the sneaker industry to the transformation of our musical world through electronics,’ Deyan Sudjic, director of Design Museum London said in a statement.
“Prada, Front and Back” is scheduled to open in London’s The Design Museum in September 2020, but an exact date has not yet been set.
