Walter Chiapponi is new Creative Director of Tod’s
Italian designer Walter Chiapponi has been appointed as the new Creative Director of Tod’s for womenswear and menswear.
The Bottega Veneta designer replaces Andrea Incontri who had been creative director of menswear for the Italian luxury group since 2014.
‘Walter Chiapponi is a talented Italian creative who knows and is able to combine Tod’s Italian lifestyle with a touch of modernity, without ever losing sight of the high quality and craftsmanship that represents the brand’s DNA. I welcome him and wish him well in his new role,’ said Diego Della Valle, President of Tod’s Group.
‘It is a great honor to work for this Group. Tod’s is a brand that has always represented an excellence in the international panorama of Italian quality and style. Being able to contribute to the development of this Italian lifestyle is, for me, a challenge and a reason to be proud,’ Chiapponi said on his appointment in a press release.
A graduate of the European Institute of Design, he made his Fashion debut during the end of the 1990s and has worked for brands such as Givenchy, Valentino, Gucci, and Miu Miu.
Chiapponi’s first collection for Tod’s will be revealed during Fall/Winter 2020-2021 and will hit stores next Autumn.
