Model of the Week: Tess Angel
Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Last week, we profiled German model Esther Lomb and this week we’re turning our attention to Tess Angel. We caught up with her to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
Not really! I began modeling at the end of high school not really knowing what I wanted to study. I think working for a few years really helped me figure out my future career goals.
How were you scouted?
Walking down the street on my way to a career’s day.
How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Friendly, professional, ambitious.
Your first modeling job?
I can’t remember exactly, but one of my first jobs was the Toni Maticevski show at Sydney fashion week. I was so nervous!
What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
Definitely the travel and exploring new places.
Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
My beautiful mum. She’s the strongest woman I know and my best friend.
What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?
The catering at the Chanel show in Paris!
What is your dream shoot/campaign?
Shooting somewhere new with my friends.
Biggest lesson that modeling has taught you?
The importance of balance.
What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received?
Time enjoyed wasting is not wasted time.
How do you stay in shape?
I love yoga and pilates.
What do you think about fashion? What does it mean to you?
I love the creative aspect of fashion but I find myself buying a lot less clothes now. I think it’s important to feel good in your clothes but also be responsible in your consumption.
If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Any designer sleeping bag!
How would you describe your style?
Comfortable.
Denim or leather?
Denim.
Heels or flats?
Flats.
Vintage or contemporary fashion?
Vintage.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Getting massages.
What’s been your most indulgent purchase since you became a model?
I bought a pair of Coach boots during NYFW once. Looking back, I think it was a stress purchase.
If you were an emoji, which would you be and why?
Woman Dancing, I’m often dancing around the house with my boyfriend.
When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
Cooking, dinner parties, dancing and spending with time with family.
What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?
At the moment I’m trying to find a good balance between uni and work. I’d love to design and build my own home one day.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Hopefully changing the world for the better. I’m not sure how yet but I’ll work it out.
