Model of the Week: Miriam Sanchez
Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Last week, we profiled Swedish illustrator-cum-model Cajsa Wessberg and this week we’re turning our attention to Miriam Sanchez.
A business administration and management student in her hometown of Madrid, the Spanish beauty was plucked from obscurity and made her debut at Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2019 show. We caught up with her to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
It has always been in my mind somehow, but I have never thought it could be done at this level. I was mostly focused on photography, but modeling was always in the back of my head.
How were you scouted?
My actual booker contacted me by Instagram.
How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Chameleon, Androgyn and Different
Your first modeling job?
The first job I ever did was some pictures for the Spanish brand David Delfin. Once I signed with Traffic, they took me to Paris where I met my French agency Ford and did the show and the campaign of Louis Vuitton!
What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
To work side by side with people that are the best in their field and to learn every day more and more about this world.
Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
I have never had any role model or any kind of idol in any aspect whatsoever.
What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?
My first show for Louis Vuitton! I could not believe this was happening to me!
What is your dream shoot/campaign?
Everything I am doing right now it’s ideal! At times I think I am dreaming it!
How do you stay in shape?
I practiced sports between 5 years old up to 18. Now I do not do any sports but I am trying to stay in shape anyway.
What do you think about fashion? What does it mean to you?
Even though looks are deceiving, I truly believe that fashion is a part of everyone’s life, and it helps us to state part of our personality to others.
If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Actually, Louis Vuitton is the brand I identify more with.
How would you describe your style?
I have clothes from size S to XL in my closet. Some days I feel I want to get into something really tight and the next one you can see me in a tracksuit…it’s hard to describe it in a word.
Denim or leather?
Denim
Heels or flats?
Flats…absolutely
Vintage or contemporary fashion?
Vintage, please!
What’s been your most indulgent purchase since you became a model?
For the moment I am behaving very well so I have not purchased anything really special, but to be honest, I have a few things in mind already, hahahaha!
When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
Normal things I guess…going for a walk and taking pictures, spend time with family and friends, travel…
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
I have no idea, I don’t really think about it a lot, but I would love to have a certain stability in every sense of my life.
