Paul Surridge Exits Roberto Cavalli
Paul Surridge has announced his exit as creative director of Roberto Cavalli after two years.
‘I have given much consideration to this decision and reached the conclusion that the mission I have signed on has changed and enters a new direction with a new perspective. I now wish to focus on other projects I put aside in order to achieve our common goals with Roberto Cavalli Group,’ the British designer wrote in a post on his personal Instagram account.
Surridge took over as the head of design at Roberto Cavalli in May 2017 replacing Peter Dundas who departed to found his eponymous label. He made his debut with his first collection for spring/summer 2018. A graduate from Central Saint Martins in London, he built an impressive career having worked at Calvin Klein in the 1990s, Burberry between 2003 and 2007 under Christopher Bailey, Jil Sander as head of menswear during Raf Simons’s tenure; creative director at Z Zegna between 2011 and 2014 and Acne Studios as creative advisor for the menswear collections.
Roberto Cavalli is yet to name a successor.
