Brand of the Week: Lindex
Each week, we take the time to highlight our favorite Fashion brands. Last week, we profiled LA-based brand Cult Gaia and this week we’ve decided to feature Lindex.
The Swedish fashion brand which was established in 1954 in Gothenburg has an assortment of categories such as Women, Lingerie, Beauty and Kids with fresh, feminine and contemporary designs influenced by its Scandinavian heritage. Today the company has around 5000 employees and approximately 480 stores in 18 markets in the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, Central Europe, and the Middle East.
Lindex is not only known for its affordable fashion but also offering a style that is right for a woman’s personality, style and needs from stylish dresses and jackets to perfect party pieces and accessories. Over the years the brand has also partnered with Missoni, Matthew Williamson, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Lindex is also known for its sustainability in all aspects of the business: from initial design to recycling. The brand launched a collection made of upcycled garments from past seasons known as Re: Design. In 2017, it launched WE Women by Lindex, to take action for gender equality in the supply chain, and work to create more equal opportunities. This year saw the release of Smart Wardrobe a long-term concept that guides its customers to more mindful shopping and inspires them to build a more sustainable wardrobe where all the pieces are used. Lindex is also involved in community-based projects such as a collaboration with WaterAid last year, which extends access to safe drinking water and improving hygiene and sanitation in the poorest communities.
