Gucci pays homage to Hollywood’s Golden Era with SS19 Ad Campaign
Gucci has released its Spring / Summer 2019 collection in the most spectacular and dazzling way with a campaign that celebrates Hollywood’s Golden Age.
The campaign follows on creative director Alessandro Michele continued tribute to the idea of theatrics. Appropriately called Gucci Showtime, the campaign and video were shot by Glen Luchford. The spectacular images and accompanying video are inspired by iconic Hollywood films of the 40s and 50s, including Cover Girl, An American in Paris, There’s No Business Like Show Business, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Singin’ in the Rain.
With glitz and glamor in abundance, bright colors in clothing and decor, and a distinctive retro style, Michele uses his romantic view of old Hollywood showbiz and creates a dazzling ode to the celebrity culture and the golden age of Hollywood musicals. The characters appear as the stars of a Technicolor musical sporting looks from the new collection such as sparkling dresses, items adorned with feathers, glitter edges and bright colors.
