Vivienne Westwood’s collection for Burberry has launched
Riccardo Tisci’s first collaboration as Burberry’s creative director with British designer Vivienne Westwood has arrived.
The limited-edition collection consists of iconic designs from the Burberry archive and includes reinterpretations of famous Westwood designs from the 90’s such as double-button jackets, high-waisted pants, a silk shirt with oversized lace collar, knitted knee socks, and laced platform shoes, style kilts, berets – all in the traditional check pattern of Burberry. There is also a mini skirt that is a modification of the one worn by Kate Moss at the Spring / Summer 1994 “Cafe Society” show, as well as a matching tie shirt that Naomi Campbell presented that same year.
At the heart of the collection is an oversized T-shirt with a handwritten message from Vivienne Westwood dedicated to the British charitable organization Cool Earth, which is fighting for the preservation of the rainforest.
Burberry shared the first images of the collaboration on its Instagram. Shot by David Sims in London, Kate Moss appears as the face of the campaign. Additionally, there is Claudia Lavendar, Josh Quinton and Andy Bradin as well as Vivienne Westwood and Riccardo Tisci appearing together with Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood’s partner and head designer of Vivienne Westwood.
With prices starting from seventy euros, the Burberry x Vivienne Westwood collection is now available in select Burberry stores in London, Paris, and Milan as well as online.
