Louise Trotter steps down from Joseph
Louise Trotter is leaving Joseph after nine years.
The 49-year-old longtime creative director announced her intention to stand down from the post at the end of August.
‘Working for Joseph for the past nine years has been an incredible experience, and I feel very lucky to have been surrounded by such an amazing and talented team who worked alongside me with passion and creativity. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my team and the brilliant collaborators who have traveled on this journey with me,’ Trotter told WWD.
Trotter joined Joseph in 2009 after leaving British high street label Jigsaw where she was creative director. Joseph which was founded in 1972 by British-Moroccan Joseph Ettedgui, was successful in the nineties with its streamlined basics. During her nine years, Trotter expanded the brand with a women’s collection of shoes, handbags and recently eyewear. She managed to get a permanent spot on the London Fashion Week program and was responsible for the men’s collection as well.
Trotter’s last collection for Joseph will be the pre-Fall/Winter 2018-2019. No successor has been announced as of yet but will be appointed in due course.
